Imagine a group of boys running through back-yards in their neighborhood in the late 1950’s. Without effort, laughter, joy, and even a bit of orneriness and exuberance are observed. Look further, and among these care-free youth was a confident young man who recognized without any doubt his calling. Meet, Dr. Henry (Hank) Van Hala, a passionate dentist who knew as a youth that he wanted to change lives through dentistry. Following that pursuit, he graduated from The Ohio State University with a B.A. in 1970 and a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) in 1974.
As a general dentist, Dr. Van Hala enjoys providing a broad range of services. After graduation from dental school, Dr. Van Hala elected to further his education by spending an additional year of training in surgery. He also has extensive education in dental sleep medicine, treating obstructive sleep apnea. Personally, wearing a device since 1991, the efficacy of the oral sleep appliance has greatly impacted his quality of life for the better.
Along with the practice’s mission, he provides the latest and best technologies available to better serve and educate patients in the North Canton office. Dr. Hank continues his membership within the American, Ohio, and Stark County Dental Associations.
Dr. Van Hala married his high school sweetheart, Holly and has two grown children. When not in the office, he enjoys playing golf, fishing, building cars and reading. He currently serves on the elder board at the Chapel in North Canton. He is sometimes asked about retirement, and his response is, “I love what I do. Why would I retire?” Two of his greatest joys are doing dental/medical missions around the world and time spent with his six grandchildren.
